<pubDate>Tue, 5 Jan 2010 16:00:00 UTC</pubDate><description>The &amp;ldquo;Have A Go Day&amp;rdquo; is an opportunity for people aged over 55 to come together and join in a variety of fun active activities at The Samson Recreation Centre in McCoombe Avenue, Samson.  Activities will include Carpet Bowls, quoits, darts, pole walking, badminton, table tennis and more.  The day is being held on Friday July 25 starting at 10am and people are welcome to come and try one thing or stay and try everything.  A light lunch and refreshments will be provided. People are also able to join City of Fremantle Bush Regeneration Officer Shane Boyle in a guided walk tour and interpretation of plants through beautiful Samson Park.  In celebration of National Tree Day you will be able to plant a shrub in the park.

Written by Steve Browning and Glenn Hall, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Lab &amp;ndash; a Sketchy History of Science, is a sketch revue that examines the history of science under the comedic microscope.
 &amp;ldquo;The revue delves into the complete spectrum of science fact - and fiction - from the Big Bang to last Tuesday,&amp;rdquo; says writer, director and actor Glenn Hall. &amp;ldquo;The show will deliver a comic mix of sketches, songs and satire.&amp;rdquo;

Presented by Scitech in partnership with Spontaneous Insanity the event will kick off National Science Week 2008 on Thursday August 14, with a second performance on Friday August 15. Western Australia&amp;rsquo;s Chief Scientist, Professor Lyn Beazley will step out of the lab and into the limelight, making her stage debut alongside a talented cast that includes actors Luke Hewitt, Benj D&amp;rsquo;addario and Andrea Gibbs.</description></item>
