Do you dream of a great adventure? Of thundering down a mountainside on a wild brumby? Could you be the hero of the hour? Do you hear the call of the bush…or just the sound of the loudspeaker.
…clean up in aisle 8, clean up in aisle 8, please…

Shane spends his days working in Patterson’s Supermarket, mopping up the spills, keeping an eye on the freezer section and making sure the trolleys don’t all roll away. But he dreams of a life of adventure. One day his big chance arrives – in the form of a talking bull, a snowy white mare and the promise of the ride of his life.

This is The Man from Snowy River as you’ve never imagined it with all the thrills of Banjo Patterson’s classic poem and a big meat-pie sized slice of silliness. The story of one boy finding his place in the world is brought right up to date with our own special brand of magical puppetry, shadow play and object theatre.

Suitable for everyone, but perfect for ages 5 - 12. Show is 50 minutes

He likes rugby, she likes telly. His favourite number is 18, her’s is 42. He picked the numbers, she changed them. They sat, they watched, they won. And now Morris and Jean are millionaires, Lucky Sods! But is hitting the jackpot all it's cracked up to be...?

A satirical and outrageous comedy about a family who have nothing on Friday and £2 million on Saturday!

Written by BAFTA winner John Godber, Lucky Sods was premiered by Godber’s own Hull Truck Theatre Company in 1986 and then updated to reflect what Mr Godber sees as the changing attitudes towards playing the lottery. In his words “lottery fever has become lottery flu!”

Award-winning director Peter Kirkwood of Applecross, says “Like a lot of John Godber's plays, there are laughs aplenty, but he doesn't let the audience off lightly.” Kirkwood, who has directed John Godber’s plays on a number of occasions says also that "The term often used to describe his writing is 'bittersweet comedy', and in this case it's certainly true.”

When Jean, played by Applecross resident and award winning actor Nicola Bond, discovers they have won the lottery she believes it is the answer to all their problems. Morris (played by Rory Mitchell of Balga) however, is not so sure.

With a fine band of actors including John Forde of North Fremantle and Ann Speicher of Mosman Park, playing the greedy and jealous in-laws after a slice of the pie, together with Grace Hitchin of Melville, Morris and Jean soon find the grass isn't always greener on the other side – especially if you spend a portion of your fortune building a conservatory so big there's nothing left of your back lawn!

Mavis Glewis of Hamilton Hill, David Champion of Kardinya, Jill Thomas of City Beach and Kim Moore of Willetton make up this happy troupe.

Director Kirkwood adds: “I like to see audiences laughing but I like them to be left thinking about things as well. In this play the big question we've all asked ourselves is 'What would I do if I won millions of dollars?' . I am delighted to be directing such a talented, experienced and dedicated cast who all understand and appreciate both the intense humour and pathos of the story.”
