Health Services

The City’s Environmental Health Services team delivers programs and projects that ensure a high standard of environmental and public health is maintained throughout the City of Fremantle in accordance with statutory obligations and Council policies and procedures.
 
Environmental Health Services is responsible for several core areas:
  • Food Safety
  • Recreational Water Quality
  • Air Quality
  • Public Buildings & Lodging Houses
  • Infectious Disease Investigation & Control
  • Alcohol Management
  • Contaminated Site Management
  • Noise Control
  • Effluent Disposal
  • Skin Penetration, Beauty Therapy and Hairdressing Premises
  • Pest Control
  • Health Promotion
Environmental Health Officer’s are authorised under the Local Government Act, Health Act, Food Act and Environmental Protection Act to carry out these duties. Officers are trained at university level and through vocational training to ensure they gain experience with a wide variety of disciplines.
